Adopt-a-Stop

What better way to welcome the world than to greet visitors right at the bus stop — with cold water, resources, and a warm Kansas City smile? Cool KC invites houses of worship, businesses, and non-profits to partner by sponsoring bus stops across the metro during World Cup and peak heat season.

Organizations provide volunteers and supplies at designated stops, becoming the friendly, welcoming face of Kansas City for residents, neighbors, and international guests alike.

How It Works
  • House of worship, business, or non-profit adopts a bus stop or transit hub
  • Volunteers staff the stop during peak heat hours
  • Supplies provided through the Cool KC clearinghouse — water, sunscreen & harm reduction items
  • Offer directions, resources, and a welcoming presence — especially to World Cup visitors
  • Coordinate with Cool KC's real-time communication network
