🚌 Adopt-a-Stop
What better way to welcome the world than greeting people right at the bus stop — with cold water, smiles, and a Kansas City welcome? Adopt-a-Stop volunteers are the friendly face of Cool KC at transit stops across the metro.

What You'll Do
- Staff a designated bus stop or transit hub during peak heat hours
- Distribute water, sunscreen, and harm reduction supplies
- Offer directions, resource cards, and a friendly welcome
- Especially support match watch party visitors who are new to KC
- Coordinate with Cool KC's real-time communication network

Who Can Adopt a Stop
- Houses of worship and faith communities
- Businesses and local organizations
- Neighborhood associations
- Friend groups, clubs, or any team of 2+ people
⏰
Time Commitment
- 2–4 hour blocks during peak heat hours
- Morning and midday shifts especially impactful
- Supplies provided by the Cool KC clearinghouse

Match Watch Party Priority Stops
High-traffic stops near stadiums, fan zones, and transit hubs will be prioritized during match watch party dates — June 16 through July 11.
