Volunteer Role
βοΈ Cooling Site Support
Cool KC has 40+ confirmed cooling sites across the metro β libraries, community centers, and drop-in spaces. These sites need warm, welcoming volunteers to help visitors feel safe, connected, and cared for during extreme heat.

What You'll Do
- Welcome visitors as they arrive β especially those experiencing homelessness
- Distribute water, snacks, and supplies as available
- Help connect visitors to other Cool KC services
- Assist with translation or navigation for match watch party visitors
- Coordinate with site staff and the Cool KC network

Where You'll Be
- Kansas City Public Library branches
- Community drop-in centers across the metro
- Faith-based cooling locations
- High-traffic outdoor spots during peak heat hours

Time Commitment
- 3β5 hour shifts, scheduled in advance
- Weekday and weekend slots available
- Most critical during heat advisories and weekends

Languages Welcome
With match watch parties and international visitors expected during the tournament, bilingual and multilingual volunteers are especially needed. Spanish, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, and more.
